What fabric can be used?
Inner liners must be 100% cotton or another natural fibre. Use French (enclosed) seams, with 2–3 liners for each outer pouch.
Outer pouches can use synthetic fabrics where the current pattern or request allows them. All fabric should be soft and in good condition, without holes or stretching; avoid plastic coatings, glitter and plastic prints.
Items must be well machine-sewn to withstand repeated washing. Hand-sewn or roughly sewn items cannot be used. See the fabric guide, and follow the current pattern or request where it gives different instructions.
What type of yarn can I use?
Wool, acrylic or blends are suitable for nests and pouches. Yarn must be machine washable. See the yarn guide, and follow the current pattern or request for your project.
Why French (enclosed) seams?
Tiny claws can catch on exposed threads. French seams enclose the raw edges and help prevent threads fraying or tangling, while making the pouch more durable through repeated washing. Follow the seam instructions in the current pattern or request.
